Peru flooding 17 march 2017
Peru is suffering from devastating floods and mudslides right now. This region has been badly affected.
On Sunday, heavy rainfall caused a dried-up river to burst its banks and flood Huanchaco seafront.
All the dogs at Esperanza Canina are safe and well. The shelter has experienced flooding and as a precautionary measure we relocated 11 of our smallest dogs. An internal wall has collapsed and we will need to rebuild this once the weather has calmed down.in the meantime, our thoughts and best wishes are with those affected by this disaster, especially our animal welfare colleagues who are fighting to save their dog shelters in Trujillo.

Launch of the Esperanza Canina Video
On July 19, 2015, we launched our Esperanza Canina video (as shown on the home page). Check it out!
1st Dog festival at Jan Pix
Our first-ever Dog Festival raised money to buy bags of dog food for our four-pawed friends at Esperanza Canina. The festival was an entire day with food and drinks, a graffiti show, a fashion show, live music, a salsa show, a break dance show and much more! Thanks to those who organised the event and everyone who came along to support it.

On Friday nights you can order a special coctail at Jan Pix bar in Huanchaco! A percantage of the sales goes to Esperanza Canina.

Puppies Get Their First Vaccinations
Volunteers Charlie and Marjolein raised £400 from donations made from their friends and family in the UK and Holland via a Gofundme campaign. The money bought vaccinations for all the puppies and 18 bags of dog food. We are so grateful to the girls and everyone who gave money. Thank you!
